One of my fondest memories as a child was going for walks with my Father around our fair town of Hespeler, ON and stopping in at a local store for a grape Pop Shoppe soda!

Imagine my surprise, well over 25 years later and now a different town, ordering food and turning my head to the pop cooler to see it's back!

I was so excited I said it out load "Oh my God, Pop Shoppe!!!"

I brought some home for my kids to try and I think they are hooked already ; )

Summer Sampling Events

Summer is finally here and Pop Shoppe is out and about at all sorts of events. Here are a few shots from the past month. And remember if your having an event and want Pop Shoppe to be a part just drop us an email! Watch for Pop Shoppe's new wheels.

Thanks for the pop!

We have often told them stories about when we were able to go to the Pop Shoppe distributing plant and create our own cases. I would go into detail about the stubby bottles and how, as a treat, my mom would allow us to choose our favourite bottles to fill the cases. We would watch as the cases are loaded into the dock area and with awe we would wonder how they could possible make the pop in the back rooms.

Although the plant is no longer in Windsor and those days are far behind us now. We can share the great taste and unique flavors of Pop Shoppe Pop with our kids. I have included a few pictures of my
daughter, Kailee Rizk, 6yrs old enjoying her treat. We do alot of bike riding with our kids, and the highlight of the end of our ride is stopping at the neighbourhood corner store to get a bottle of Pop Shoppe Pop.

Pop Shoppe Pop, an icon of the 1970’s, is being sold again in the Portlandarea. 

Moxie’s on Main, America’s #1 soda shop, has become the first

US retailer of Pop Shoppe Pop in over 20 years.  Long-time Portland and Vancouver residents remember Pop Shoppe Pop from its sponsorship of the Ramblin’ Rod Show, a children’s program that aired daily on KPTV from 1964 to 1997.  Lucky audience members would receive complimentary four-packs of Pop Shoppe Pop from Ramblin’ Rod.  Children not lucky enough to attend tapings of the Ramblin’ Rod Show could find Pop Shoppe Pop at the company’s stores throughout the region.

Another Great Email!

Hi There,

I was at Taylor'd Bagels in Oakville and saw the Pop Shoppe product in the cooler there.  I couldn't believe my eyes!

I picked up a bunch of the bottles and brought them home for a Christmas treat. 

Well, part way through our "tree", I mentioned that there was Pop Shoppe pop available - you should have seen the excitement.  My two brothers, with their children, my sister-in-law and my parents were so thrilled to get that great taste back.  We remember it well from when we were kids out on Vancouver Island.  That weekly trip to the store to pick up Pop Shoppe pop was always greatly anticipated.

Thanks for making our Christmas a little extra special!

Dear Pop Shoppe,

I must have been under a rock for the past 6 months, or perhaps it's just that I don't walk down the junk food/beverage aisles anymore, but last weekend I was at Sam's Club, following my boyfriend and we went down that fated aisle.  I stopped dead in my tracks and got tears in my eyes when I saw The Pop Shoppe Pop!!  I ran over and started loading the cart for fear that it was a mistake, or a one time deal. Where I grew up there was no Pop Shoppe (or at least my parents never let on that there was one!), but when we went to visit my Grandma and Grandpa there was one in their town, and we used to go with my Grandpa to return the empties and fill up the crate once more.  The crate sat on the front porch for our whole visit and we had at least two every day, my favorite was, and now, thankfully, still is, Black Cherry. It was the flood of memories that made me almost cry, and remembering my Grandparents.  I started bubbling over with all the stories of trips to Grandma and Grandpa's house and summer vacations gone by, it was wonderful.  I'm heading home soon for a visit and I'm going to bring some bottles home for my sisters and parents... (not the black cherry though, it won't last that long!)

Clear the Track....Here Comes Shack!!

These are shots from the Canadian Food and Beverage Show held in Toronto last week. We had arranged to have Eddie Shack come out and sign some autographs. As you can see, Eddie still draws a crowd! It was a great 3 days. Thanks to all that stopped by. 

Cola Added!

Pop Shoppe Goes Back To School

Pop Shoppe begins its "Back To School Sample Schedule". First up is Frosh Fest at Mohawk Collage in Hamilton then we are off to the University of Toronto's Scarborough campus for a sampling at the Xpress Bookstore. Check out our events page for for information. Have a great year of school!!

HMI Charity Golf Tournament

Two Great Emails

Just wanted to share two more great emails.

Email #1

I was out the other day with the intention of buying my daughter drinking boxes for school. As I walked by the cooler I saw what was a familiar symbol,it read The Pop Shoppe. I bought her cream soda and orange flavors and she loves them. She needs more,she wants more and since I have not drank any pop since about the early nineties I may have to change my ways. I remember the location on the corner of Upper Gage and Crockett on the east mountain in Hamilton. I use to with my parents,uncle and cousins to buy a cold beverage every Saturday. Though the shoppe is no longer there, since it now is a pioneer gas station everytime I drive my car through the car wash, I remember walking through looking at all the amesome flavors. Keep up the excellent work.

Hi,

Its hard to believe your back. I have such good memories of Pop Shoppe. Every saturday after hockey my parents and my sister and I would go to our local Pop Shoppe and get a 24 pack for the week. We could choose any flavors for the whole 24 which was so cool. I never knew which ones to choose either cause I loved them all. I read the letter you got from the person in Nova Scotia and I could just imagine feeling the same way if I could have one. I've moved to Arizona a couple of years ago but go home sometimes to New Brunswick and sometimes to Ontario. It will be nice to go back and get some. I'm so happy you guys are back!! I wish you all the prosperity in the world cause your making alot of people happy. You know when you have a good product and you take into consideration that your making people happy, I bet its really rewarding to you.

Great New London Retailer

I just wanted to let the people of London know that they can now get The Pop Shoppe  at Prospector Foods, located at Gibraltar Trade Centre on Dundas Street. I also have to say they make the best meat pie's too. If you  like to buy Pop Shoppe by the case this is the place to do it at.

Another Great Email

I stopped at a video store on my way to work was just looking around and I saw the bottle The Pop Shoppe. I had to take a double look because I have not seen this product in such a long time. I live in St. Catharines and I still remember the store that was on Geneva St.  I would go there twice a week with my parents and have good times.  The bottles were stubbies back
then.  I just wanted to say thank-you for bringing back this product to my home town of St. Catharines.  Not only have you brought back the memories of good tasting pop but also the memories of the good old days when I went there with my parents.

Canadian Food & Beverage Show 2005

Just completed exhibiting at the Canadian Food and Beverage Show in Toronto. The response was amazing! This show is primarily for food service operators and should help get The Pop Shoppe brand into your favorite restaurant. I have posted a couple of pictures from the show. Our booth design was a hit with its retro theme. Featured in the pictures is our sample girl Gina who did an amazing job keeping up to the high demand of people wanting Pop Shoppe samples. I also want to mention that Pop Shoppe is now being sold at all Kitchen Table locations in Toronto.

I know most people are saying "Pineapple Soda???", and I said the same thing, but trust me its great!! Hello,

I was shopping today at a little deli here in Halifax, Nova Scotia and I found a lone bottle of Pop Shoppe Root beer. I did a double take and smiled. I haven’t seen Pop Shoppe in as much as 20 years! I bought up the bottle and drank my childhood back. Marvelous Stuff, thought after finding out they only had a few bottle and I had the last one.

Well, what I am getting at is, is Pop Shoppe going to come back here to Nova Scotia or is this an only occurrence? I sure hope not, my wife and friends found out now they want some.

I just wanted to say thank you for letting me relive a piece of my childhood, and hopefully we all will taste your great Pop Shoppe across Canada. Thank you.

Just a quick update on the launch of the new site. I had a great meeting with my most excellent design team from AmoebaCorp today. The designs for the new site look awesome!! I have been getting lots of emails from people about their memories of The Pop Shoppe. Keep them coming!! For people interested in knowing where they can currently buy Pop Shoppe, give our distributor a call at 1-888-909-7623. If its not in your area then hassle your local variety store to get it!! I will post a few pictures I have, one is from my wedding in November, where we gave out special Pop Shoppe edition bottles as gifts to our guest. Kind of cheesy but people liked it.
